World Glaucoma Week is an annual, worldwide campaign dedicated to:
– Raising awareness about glaucoma and its risks
– Encouraging people to get their eyes examined
– Sharing up-to-date knowledge with eye-care professionals
At Centre for Sight, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, World Glaucoma Week is a busy, focused week of education and advocacy. Over the years, activities have included:
Full-day and half-day academic programs for post-graduates and practising ophthalmologists.
Online sessions explaining risk factors, diagnosis, new treatments and patient questions.
Ongoing effort to impart knowledge about new and innovative technologies to professionals.
Local TV segments, digital initiatives and print coverage during the week to reach patients and families.
Each year’s program aims to do two things: update doctors and empower patients with awareness.
Each year, World Glaucoma Week maintains a global activities map where centres register their events. Centre for Sight, Hyderabad appears regularly on this world map, highlighting its role in glaucoma awareness.

Over the years, Dr. Pathak-Ray’s World Glaucoma Week initiatives and glaucoma insights have been featured in various media:
