Dr. Vanita Pathak Ray is a consultant ophthalmologist with more than 25 years of experience in glaucoma and cataract management. After completing her MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata (nee Calcutta), Dr. Pathak-Ray moved to the United Kingdom for advanced ophthalmic training. She obtained her Post-graduate degrees from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (FRCS Ed.) and Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London (FRCOphth, Lon.).
Her pursuit of excellence took her further to Canada, where she completed a prestigious Glaucoma Fellowship at the University of Toronto, gaining hands-on expertise in complex glaucoma management and surgical innovation.
Returning to India, she joined the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad, as a consultant and trainer, before assuming her current position as Senior Consultant Glaucoma and Cataract Services at Centre for Sight, Hyderabad.
At Centre for Sight, Dr. Pathak-Ray specializes in the management of glaucoma and cataract, offering comprehensive diagnostic, laser, and surgical care.
Beyond clinical work, she mentors young ophthalmologists, conducts academic teaching sessions, and continues to contribute to national and international research collaborations.
Dr. Pathak-Ray’s contributions have been recognised both in India and abroad for her dedication to patient care and advancement of glaucoma treatment.

She has authored and co-authored several papers in international journals, contributing to the understanding of modern glaucoma surgery and its impact on quality of life.
